Chrysler Cars History

There're 7 CHRYSLER car service manuals PDF, electric wiring diagrams, error codes DTC.

In 1923, Walter Percy Chrysler, already the owner of the Chalmers and Maxwell automobile firms by that time, registered his own automobile plant.

The production of Chrysler cars began in 1925.

In 1955, DaimlerChrysler begins an expansion campaign by buying up European car factories: in 1963, a 40% stake in the Spanish Barreiros Diesel was bought; 80% of the shares of the French Simka.

From this followed the creation of a large European Chrysler.

In 1970, Mitsubishi develops and launches small cars under the Chrysler brand for sale in the United States.

The 70s were unprofitable for the European Chrysler.

In difficult years for the company, a manager, Lee Iacocca, was invited, who saved her from the crisis by taking loan guarantees from the government.

And in 1987, Lamborghini, American Motors Corporation (Jeep) joins Chrysler.

From 1985 to 1989, the company develops economy cars in collaboration with Mitsubishi and Renault.

In 1988, Eagle trucks and pickups appear.

In 1998, Chrysler merged with Daimler-Benz, which takes the name DaimlerChrysler.

In 1999, North American production of Chrysler exceeded 300, 000 vehicles, and worldwide sales of cars under this brand in the same year amounted to 445. 5 thousand units (this includes some models produced in the USA by Plymouth and Dodge divisions, as well as European production Chrysler Voyager).

A sensation at the Frankfurt Motor Show in the autumn of 1999 was caused by the compact Java model with a 5-door station wagon, only 3. 77 m long.

It is assumed that such cars (in the European size class B) with a 1. 4-liter engine will be assembled specifically for the European market, where a number of higher-class cars are already on sale: Neon, Stratus, 300M, Voyager minivan and sports Viper.
