The history of Jaecoo began in March 2023, when the already popular Omoda brand, owned by Chery Automobile Co. Ltd, was first introduced to the Kazakhstan market.

At the same time, the Chinese automaker announced the appearance of a more expensive Jaecoo brand, focused on export.

Thus, this brand is located between the luxury Exeed and the more youth-oriented Omoda.

The first model in the Jaecoo product line was the J7 crossover, known in China under the simpler name - 7.

It is no secret that this is a modified version of the Chery TJ-1 crossover, offered in other markets.

The new product differs from its relative in a different radiator grille with vertical elements, redesigned bumpers, a new steering wheel and the absence of an LED strip along the edge of the hood.

The crossover is available for purchase in five single-color (black, green, gray, silver and white) and three two-color body color options (green, gray and silver with a black roof).

The car has a technological design, which is created by original and aesthetic mirrors on the pillars and hidden door handles that automatically extend using an electric drive.

The wheel size is 18 or 19 inches.

The interior of the Jaecoo J7 has everything a modern driver needs - cruise control, a drive mode selector, an electric parking brake with AutoHold and a power steering.

The seats are trimmed with leather, the standard comfort options include heated seats, dual-zone climate control, electric adjustment of the driver's seat, a multimedia system with a 13. 2-inch display and six speakers, a 10. 2'' instrument panel.

The new model is powered by a 1. 6-liter turbocharged gasoline engine with 186 hp and 275 Nm of torque, working in conjunction with a seven-speed robotic gearbox, front- or all-wheel drive (AWD).

In the first case, the average fuel consumption is 7. 6 l / 100 km, in the second - 8. 2 l / 100 km, acceleration time from 0 to 100 km / h is 9. 4 (2WD) or 8. 9 sec. (AWD).

According to preliminary data, this will be followed by the development of a larger crossover, which will be built on the basis of the flagship Chery Tiggo 9 with dimensions of 4820 - 1930 - 1699 mm (length - width - height), a wheelbase of 2820 mm and 20-inch wheels.

There is currently no information on whether it will be available in a three-row version.

It is also unknown what name it will receive - Jaecoo J9 or something else.
